As every Sunday, in our coffee and English circle gathering, we had the opportunity to welcome new friends from different parts of the world. Initially, we shared a conversation where we discussed our best experience of the week. Then, teacher Andrew gave us an activity where, in small groups, we identified the past tense in sentences and some other details about this grammatical rule. This activity is part of the 21-day challenge to put our English into action, which we are developing through WhatsApp with the aim of falling in love with the language and getting used to practicing every day.
Over delicious coffee with cookies, chocolates, sausages, bread, and avocado, we had the opportunity to talk and share with each other. At 5 PM, Pastor Robyn brought us a beautiful message of hope from the book of Jeremiah, inspiring us to reflect on how to flourish in the place where God has allowed us to be at this moment. Additionally, our friends Sebastian and Chelsea shared their story of how Jesus has impacted their lives and what it’s been like to walk hand in hand with Him and His word.
Afterward, we returned to the chat and coffee to listen to Edwin Lusala’s recommendations about a job platform widely used in Australia, where many international students could take advantage of offering their talents in any field of knowledge.
At AuburnHub, we love sharing and supporting migrants and international students in their process of integration and adaptation to life in Australia. We are certain that in a friendly environment like ours, and with these spaces for connection and learning, we all grow, learn, and have the opportunity to progress in achieving our goals and dreams.
Remember that every week we have different stories and experiences. We encourage you to come and share with us. Together, we are stronger!
