Last Sunday at Auburn, we had a wonderful gathering that started with our English Circle session at 3 PM. We began by greeting each other and welcoming new friends and family members who joined us. It was exciting to see familiar faces from the past!
Our leader, Andrew, led our English session. He divided us into small groups, each with a native or fluent English speaker as a leader. We received a set of cut-out words, and our first task was to group them by their type, like verbs, adjectives, nouns, adverbs, and prepositions. Once we did that, we worked together to discover the correct meaning of the phrases. This activity helped us identify different parts of speech and understand the logic of sentences in English. We also had a great time talking with our group friends to share ideas and concepts.
After our learning session, we took a short break to enjoy some coffee, tea, and delicious cookies.
Then, we began our worship service led by Pastor Robyn. Inspired by Philippians 1:25-26, she encouraged us to live in the joy of faith and reminded us that each of us has a purpose that God reveals to us and helps us fulfill.
At the end of the day, we shared a lovely dinner with Iranian soup and egg sandwiches. We are grateful to everyone who helps make these gatherings warm and uplifting.
We look forward to seeing you on Thursdays and Sundays for our activities!
