Although Andrew isn’t a teacher by profession, he is undoubtedly a teacher by calling. A retired accountant, Andrew has a passion for helping others, and his love for teaching stems from his desire to serve. His dedication to helping those around him has been deeply influenced by his Christian faith, which he’s been able to express through the mission of Auburn.
At Auburn, Andrew has been part of a vision that focuses on supporting migrants and international students, helping them integrate into Australian society in a kind and successful way. He’s not just assisting with English learning, but also playing a significant role in making Auburn a friendly, inspiring, and safe community for everyone.
Andrew joins us every Thursday at the English Circle at Swinburne University, where he helps us engage in fluent conversations, encouraging students to avoid using translators and instead rely on their growing vocabulary. His encouragement makes all the difference, motivating each of us to make the extra effort to improve. On Sundays during our coffee meetings, Andrew prepares activities that clarify important grammar points, phrases, and vocabulary. He is always understanding and approachable, making learning a truly enjoyable experience.
On behalf of our entire community, we send Andrew all our love and best wishes for a long and healthy life with us.
